          How much soup can one family consume? In deep winter, there may be no limit! That’s why we’ve rounded up our absolute faves to make next week’s soup supper the very best ever. All you need is a hungry crew (and maybe a loaf of bread!)

          This one has it all: bold, spicy flavors and that lovable tortilla crunch on top. Plus, it’s the perfect way to use up leftover meat.

          2. Creamy Butternut Squash and Fennel Soup

          You might not think of fennel as an “everyday” ingredient, but it’s totally easy to work with and absolutely magical when paired with old faithful butternut squash.

          3. Chicken Noodle Soup

          With a little sausage or bacon, this soup has a rich, smoky flavor and is hearty without much meat. And if you're a vegetarian, simply leave out the bacon bits and rely on the white beans, carrots and celery.

          Happy soup season! I’m ready to sit by the fireplace and while waiting for a simmering pot of soup to bubble and spurt on the stove all day long.
