Here’s my favorites to go through your stash, get organized and more.

Fun sewing projects from your fabric stash:

Sometimes it’s fun to shop your stash and whip up a quick project without making a trip to the fabric store. (Though I’m the last person that will talk you out of buying more fabric if that’s what you really want to do!) These luggage tags are a great way to use up odds and ends of your favorite cotton prints. As a bonus, these will help you pick out your luggage from the sea of black rolling suitcases at baggage claim.

A zip-around wallet is a another great way to make use of a print you love. It would also make a great gift!

Fun accessory sewing projects:

Bored with your wardrobe? How about adding a new accessory or two to make things interesting again? You could try your hand at hat making with a stretchy beret or maybe a flat cap. A new purse can also liven things up — I like this 2-in-1 Fold Over Clutch because it’s so versatile. A messenger bag or a carpet bag are fun projects if you’re looking for a bag with more room.

Fun garment sewing projects:

Why not give yourself a bit of a challenge? Sewing lingerie can be quite a different experience. You could start with this soft bra. Or, if you’re just looking for a new twist on a classic shape, you could stitch up this bib top. Another option is a simple knit skirt with a high-low hem.

Fun pet sewing projects:

If your pet has been extra good lately, it’s time to sew something just for them. Maybe your canine friend would appreciate a new dog bed or a handmade dog leash, perhaps one to coordinate with his or her collar.

Pets of the feline variety will love cat toys stuffed with catnip. I know my cats would go crazy for these! Plus, this is a great way to repurpose socks.

Fun sewing projects for organization:

If you need help getting organized, there are sewing patterns just for you. I love this fabric handle basket — it’s the perfect catchall and is great for corralling items that need to be put back where they belong. You could easily make a bunch of these baskets and match them to your room decor.

These square bowls are another great organizing option — they would be perfect to organize sewing supplies. A cosmetic bag with brush roll is perfect for organizing your makeup and toiletries at home or away. Or if you really need to organize your purse or tote bag, you could whip up a purse organizer. (I should take my own advice!)
