If we had to choose one fashion-related TV show to watch over and over (and over) again, it’d be Bravo's Project Runway, no question. From the dizzying time challenges to the blow-your-mind designs, each episode has us feeling more motivated than ever to create.
With the March 14th premiere date fast approaching, here are all the reasons we’re hyped for the all-new season.
The Competition Is Going to Be Next-Level
Let’s face it: friendly rivalries often inspire us to do more because, well, high stakes, high rewards. And there’s something intoxicating about watching a new crop of designers step up their game with groundbreaking ideas, innovative techniques and to-die-for accessorizing. Now we’re just crossing fingers that their drive to one-up each other means we’ll learn one (OK, maybe two) of the secrets behind their wizardry.
There’ll Be Inspiration Like Woah
New host Karlie Kloss said it best : “In the world of fashion, nothing’s more important than what’s next.” We can’t wait to see what envelope-pushing ideas the designers come up with this season. Whether it’s the latest twist on dying fabric or an eye-catching way to drape that dress, creative limits are going to be challenged — and we’re all about reaping those rewards.
We’ll Be Remaking the Runway
Speaking of inspo, watching an episode makes our fingers tingle with the urge to create a few of our own masterpieces. That’s why we’re launching an exclusive digital series that riffs off the very same challenges you’ll see the designers face, tasking some of our favorite makers (hi, Marcy Harriell !) with producing something amazing in their chosen craft. From leveling up those 3D embroidery techniques to sewing four dresses in one (yep, it’s a thing and it’s awesome), download our app and tune in starting March 15th.
Boundaries Will Be Broken
Bravo's Project Runway is known for its often-crazy time limits and inventive twists on the weekly challenges. And while there may be a freak-out (or five), designers always use their mad skills to pull off something fabulous. So we’re using this season as a reminder to level up our own fashion sewing skills and get creative with our resources. Based on the preview , it looks like the designers don’t shy away from anything — including the great outdoors.
Karlie Kloss and Christian Siriano Have Arrived
We won't lie: Our hearts skipped a beat after hearing Karlie and Christian were taking over as the show's host and mentor. Karlie’s the perfect fit, what with her fashion genius. (Plus, she’s an amazing baker — we’re in love.) And Christian, well, he's a CFDA designer who's dressed powerhouses like Michelle Obama, Angelina Jolie and, oh yeah, Billy Porter in this year’s jaw-dropping tuxedo gown at the Oscars. Basically, they’re master makers after our own hearts. ‘Nuff said.
