In this lesson, you will get an overview of all the materials and tools that will be needed throughout this course.
In this lesson, we comment on the line of action as a tool to give intentionality and emphasize the expressiveness of our characters. We perform some exercises on the same concepts.
In this lesson, you will explore the three main volumetric forms in the structure of an anatomical body, see how they can be reduced to their minimum shapes, and then use them to draw any expressive posture.
Here we work on distortion and taking “lines to the limit”. We will do that with exercises on the basic forms of our character, to emphasize the design and its intention.
In this lesson, we carry out exercises to push the proportions of our character to the limit, without losing the expressive intention of our design.
This lesson will go over principles of simplifying the hair into elemental forms and some options of how the hair can respond according to the pose and movement of our character.
This lesson will go over principles of simplifying clothing into elemental forms and some options of how it can respond according to the pose and movement of our character.
In this lesson, we will see the three main areas of the face in terms of expressiveness and their limits of deformation for the possible facial expressions.
In this lesson we apply these principles to draw three different facial expressions on our final character.

In this class you will learn how to draw several different characters with a variety of different gestures and poses. You will begin by understanding what the line of action is and how to give movement to your characters. From there, you will learn how to break down components of your character into simple shapes, then change those shapes to emphasize the design. Your instructor will also show you how to keep the proportion of your character, no matter what pose or position they are in. Finally, you will learn how to add finishing details like hair and clothing.
